Mark the boundaries on a layout

Storage footprint and height

Provide dimensions, rack locations and usable storage heights for each area. Label mezzanines, separate rooms and areas that are not used for product storage.

Interfaces and equipment

Mark doors, loading docks, heating and cooling equipment, and existing monitoring locations. Identify receiving, quarantine and staging zones to include or exclude explicitly.

Site conditions

Share the site location, available HVAC schedules, known temperature concerns and recent alterations. Flag any seasonal question you expect the study to address.

Turn the operating schedule into a study brief

Loading state

Describe the expected stock arrangement and occupancy during the study. State whether empty, representative loaded or other conditions need separate assessment.

Routine activity

Provide shift patterns, receiving hours and access restrictions. Agree on how site staff will record relevant activities while the sensors are deployed.

Timing and seasonal coverage

Give your business deadline separately from any requested collection duration. Ask which operating periods and seasonal conditions belong in the protocol before reserving dates.

Agree on what follows the report

Evidence to review

Confirm the placement plan, calibration records, data files, analysis and report required in your quote, along with your review and approval responsibilities.

Work outside the study

Rack changes, HVAC remediation, changes to allowable storage areas, monitoring installation and follow-up mapping are not automatically included. Assign an owner for decisions raised by the findings.
