Description

The ATEK LoRa transmitter is an innovative tool designed to extend temperature monitoring beyond the traditional limits of your refrigerators. This fills a significant gap in traceability and quality assurance, particularly for refrigerated products that are outside the refrigerator.

Thanks to the ATEK LoRa transmitter, it is now possible to monitor the temperature of a cooler on the ATEK platform, in real time. This is equivalent to the continuous monitoring you might have for a refrigerator, which is a significant advancement compared to using a traditional data logger.

The ATEK LoRa Transmitter leverages LoRa wireless communications technology, known for its low power consumption and extended range, to ensure seamless communications with the ATEK platform. To do this, we use a network of public antennas, thus allowing wide signal coverage throughout the territory. In addition, when certain areas are less well covered, the network can be extended. Fees associated with network access are minimal and are included in the package offered.

Applications

  • Transport cooler

  • Individual monitoring of blood products

  • Refrigerators

  • Freezers

  • Ovens

  • Ambient conditions (TH)

Functioning

The Lora ATEK transmitter

  • Takes temperature readings every minute

  • Records temperatures in an internal table every 5 minutes

  • Transmits data every 5 minutes

  • If the transmitter is unable to transmit due to poor signal coverage, we recommend installing a LoRa gateway in the facility.

Startup

  1. Press the button for 5 seconds

    1. A green light illuminates steadily when the button is pressed

    2. The green light flashes after 5 seconds, that’s when you have to release the button

    3. The red light flashes once if no external probe is plugged in and blue if an external probe is plugged in, the transmitter is working

  2. Wait 15 to 20 minutes and check receipt of data on the ATEK platform

This procedure also forces the association to the network

Force instant playback

    1. Press the button for 3 seconds

      1. The green light turns on constantly

      2. The blue light (external probe) or red light (no external probe) flashes once after releasing the button to confirm the sending of the data

Turn off the transmitter

Press the button 5 consecutive times.

      • Green light turns on every time

      • The blue (external probe) or red (no external probe) light turns on then turns off when the transmitter turns off.

Loss of network connection

The transmitter saves data in its internal memory every 5 minutes until the network returns where the data is uploaded en masse.

Battery

The transmitter’s internal battery is of high capacity which offers operating autonomy of up to 18 months depending on the configurations.

The battery should be changed when it reaches a voltage of 2.50V.

Factor affecting battery life

Transmission frequency

  • Transmission every 15 minutes compared to 5 minutes triples battery life.

Transmitter temperature (i deal 21°C)

  • warmer or colder reduces battery life

Wireless Signal Strength/Quality

  • Proximity to a footbridge

  • The interior vs. exterior of equipment

  • Obstacle between transmitter and gateway

3.0v = 100% 2.9v = 100% 2.8v = 75% 2.7v = 75% 2.6v = 50% 2.5v = 20% 2.4v = 0% 2.3v = 0%

Shipping procedure

Make sure the transmitter is within its operating temperature range before packaging. This ensures the transmitter is at the correct temperature when installed in the cooler and will prevent false alarms.

  1. Take a tempered transmitter.

  2. Pack the transmitter in the cooler

  3. Activate the alarm (deactivate silencing on the ATEK platform)

Receipt procedure

  1. Disable the alarm (In hibernate the sensor on the ATEK platform)

  2. Check the temperature curve and enter notes

  3. Clean the transmitter with a cloth

  4. Put the transmitter in the refrigerator or freezer
